I'm back from a much-longer-than-anticipated hiatus with a random assortment of old faves.
I haven't stepped behind the decks since just before the new year as I spent the first month of this year grieving the loss of my incredibly-close cousin, Elaine Rojano, who sadly and suddenly passed away at the age of 40 on New Year's Day. My cousin was the absolute best. One of the most loving, caring, and supportive people I knew.
I won't lie...it's been a ROUGH month of reassembling shattered pieces of myself after that loss. So I appreciate your patience as I hadn't put out a mix since the Christmas one.
You'll definitely notice that this mix is a SUPER random collection of throwbacks. But not-so-randomly...to honour my beautiful cousin, I start the mix with one of her favourite songs and I end the mix with her singing one of my favourite songs (and if you knew her, you'd know that she was a fantastic singer).
I'm so thankful for the time I had with her and thankful for the opportunity to navigate my feelings around this deep loss through music.
