This site will generate a playlist for you based on the book you’re reading

First off…yes…it’s an A.I. thing. I know, right? I almost didn’t wanna mention that because of how much (understandable) discourse there is around the subject.

But I just got into this site for shits and giggles and figured it was worth a share!

It’s called Muzify and what it does is generate a musical playlist for you inspired by the book title you input.

It’s important to note:

After you type in your book title and the site generates the playlist for you, it DOES ask you for your e-mail address before it reveals the songs on said playlist. Probably for targeted ads, commercial e-blasts, or…something, I don’t know.

But here’s an example based on what I’m currently reading.

Right now, I’m finishing up the third book of a Japanese trilogy, all about a café that has a certain seat containing the ability to travel back in time. Now, the time travel element is definitely the hook, but the story is more about relationships, regret and the choices we make.

So this is the playlist it generated when I typed in the title of the first book in the series, “Before The Coffee Gets Cold”:

It’s pretty neat and I’ve become quite the book reader over the past several months, so I have a feeling I’m going to be coming back to this often! If you want to try it out yourself, you can do so here.
