To celebrate the opening of Beyond the Beat at the Royal BC Museum, I created a mix of a number of the artists featured in the exhibition.

If you're a fan of music, you might be interested in checking out the latest exhibition at The Royal BC Museum. It's on now until January 5th and it's called Beyond the Beat: Music of Resistance and Change. Discover how music has shaped the course of history and inspired social change.

Originating from the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Beyond the Beat features artifacts ranging from Neil Young's harmonica to outfits worn on stage from artists like Elton John, Tegan and Sara and Chuck D of Public Enemy (who will be in Victoria this September headlining the Rifflandia Music Festival).

The exhibition showcases music as a powerful catalyst for social and political change using examples both historical and contemporary. The dynamic displays and interactive experiences guide you through the stories behind iconic songs and artists who challenged the status quo through melody and lyrics.

I was honoured to spin at the opening gala for this exhibition on May 29 and to celebrate its opening, I've put together an hour-long mix of some of the artists featured!
